Accountant
Job Description:
I. Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting functions
- Process and record accounting transactions accurately and ensure proper documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Apply basic accounting principles and maintain a clear understanding of transaction classifications.
- Perform end to end accounts payable transactions/process.
- Prepare payment requests, check vouchers, wire transfers, and online payment documentation for approval by authorized signatories.
- Prepare and submit client invoices on a timely basis and assist in monitoring collections and follow-up of outstanding receivables.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, including bank accounts, receivables, payables, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, schedules, annual financial statements, and tax requirements.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documents.
II. Taxation and Compliance functions
- Handle and monitor transactions related to government regulatory requirements.
- Assist on financial and tax compliance audits.
- Responsible in ensuring all received BIR notices and correspondences are attended under the approval of the Controller and Manager.
- Preparation and timely filing of statutory reports for government agencies (BIR, SEC, LGUs, etc.) such as but not limited to business permit application, renewals, and retirement.
- Maintain registered books of accounts and assist in filing loose-leaf books and other accounting records as required.
- Safeguard tax-related documents, returns, and compliance records.
- Ensure transactions comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain records of suppliers’ taxes withheld and VAT relief records and prepare Quarterly BIR Alphalist.
- Filing of monthly and quarterly expanded withholding tax, final tax, VAT returns, and other applicable taxes.
III. Administrative functions
- Handle bank relations and information updates
- Handle Corporate information annual updates (include Company profile and Corporate Structure)
- Execute efficient file management system.
- Coordinate and Transact with Legal Team on legal documentations as may be deemed necessary.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus
- Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics software is an advantage
- 1+ years’ experience in General accounting, Financial Reporting and Ph Taxation
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Expertise on Advanced MS Excel is a plus
- Strong understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to take on a varied workload, while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Team player and can clearly communicate across all levels in the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
